Micron MLT Series Transmitter Description

MLT series DIN rail transmitters & signal conditioners
can be interfaced to a wide range of sensors and transducers using one of seven available plug-in signal conditioner boards. The transmitters duplicate the high performance (high accuracy, high read rate) and extensive programmable features of Micron 1/8 DIN digital panel meters, counters and timers. They utilize the same signal conditioners boards, much of the same firmware, and the same Windows-based free Instrument Setup Software. They come in a compact DIN rail mount package with detachable screw-clamp connectors for easy wiring.

The Micron MLT series transmitters accessible from this page include a 4-20 mA, 0-20 mA, 0-10V, or -10V to +10V analog output (isolated, user selectable), an RS232 or RS485 serial data interface (isolated, user selectable), and dual 120 mA solid state AC/DC relays (isolated). An isolated 5, 10 or 24 Vdc transducer excitation output is included with all models other than those with a temperature or AC RMS signal conditioner.

For use on a local area network (LAN)
, up to 30 LT series transmitters can be jumpered for RS485 and be daisy chained to a meter or counter with the  Ethernet-to-RS485 converter board. As an alternative, Micron's MLTE series Ethernet transmitters can be connected directly to a LAN via an Ethernet cable. In both cases, setup is easily achieved using Instrument Setup Software for node discovery and setup of each transmitter.

Micron MLTE Series Ethernet & 4-20 mA transmitters can be interfaced to an Ethernet network while also providing an isolated 16-bit, 4-20 mA, 0-20 mA or 0-10V analog output plus dual solid state AC/DC relays. The Modbus TCP protocol is fully supported

Micron MLTE Series Transmitter Product Line Overview

Micron MLTE Series DIN rail transmitters & signal conditioners come with an Ethernet interface (isolated), a 4-20 mA or 0-10V analog output (isolated), dual 120 mA solid state AC/DC relays (isolated), and a transducer excitation output (isolated, models other than for temperature or AC RMS).

Micron MLTE transmitters can be interfaced to a wide range of sensors and transducers using one of seven seven available signal conditioner boards. The transmitters duplicate the high performance (high accuracy, high read rate) and extensive programmable features of Micron 1/8 DIN digital panel meters, counters and timers. They utilize the same signal conditioner boards, much of the same firmware, and the same Windows-based Instrument Setup Software. They come in a compact DIN rail mount package with detachable screw-clamp connectors for signal and power.

MLTE transmitters can be connected directly to a Local Area Network (LAN) via an Ethernet cable and allow remote readings over the Internet. Modbus TCP and the simpler Custom ASCII communication protocols are fully supported. Please see our Modbus Communications Manual and our Serial ASCII Communications Manual. Node discovery and transmitter setup are by means of Instrument Setup Software, which is downloadable and free of charge. Additonal Node Manager Software, which is also downloadable and free of charge, provides utilities to configure each node, such as naming the node, entering email addresses for alarm notification and data requests, selecting the node's time zone for time-stamping of streaming data, setting communication parameters, setting static IP addresses if required, and updating node firmware.

Micron MLTS RS232/RS485 input transmitters and MLTSE Ethernet input transmitters are serial-to-analog converters which convert serial data to an isolated, 16-bit, 4-20 mA, 0-20 mA or 0-10V analog output. These converters can extract readings from long data strings.

Inputs for MLT andM LTE Series transmitters can be analog signals (AC voltage or current, DC voltage or current, strain gauge, load cell, thermocouple, RTD, resistance), pulse inputs (rate & frequency, totalizing, quadrature position or rate, process time, sum, difference or ratio of two inputs, AC phase angle or power factor, duty cycle), or a serial data (RS232 or RS485) input.
